Q:

Regarding system components, the lecture conceptually makes great sense. But, there are a ton of products out there and I am sure a lot of snake oil is being sold. More importantly, I think it is hard to make smart choices on components until one is competent with system design. Besides your great courses, what other resources would you recommend to get strong at system design?

A:

I just signed up to be an installer with a financing group today and they will only let installers use certain products that are bankable. I do not have a choice when working with them, but to use something that will last.

I also buy from different distributors that I know personally and they help me out. I also try new things, since I teach classes and some of them are not my favorites, but as long as it prevents leaks with flashing, I like it.

If you would ever like a referral or anyone else out there, send me an email at seanwhitesolar@gmail.com and I can introduce you to who I use.

I also like deals!

Thanks,

Sean White
